Submitting Articles to Early Motorcycles
I encourage you to please send in articles for ‘Early Motorcycles’ to make it interesting and helpful.
Although I produce some articles myself I am also relying on readers to send in interesting pieces on pre-1960 (or later ) motorcycles. Don't be concerned if you feel you don't write very well, I can edit it for you.
What sort of articles are we looking for?
There is a wide range of interests even in the 'narrow' range that ‘Early Motorcycles’ covers. Interesting pieces are needed on;
-
Your motorcycle and its history / restoration. Before and after photos, how you found it, etc.
-
Technical hints and tips. Restoration help, problem solving. eg. How to cover a seat, how to fit beaded tyres, how to convert gas lights, etc.
-
Technical information about a particular machine / make.
-
Business profiles (from companies).
-
Weird and strange items
-
Rally and show reports.
-
Tell us about your club.
-
Old advertisements and clippings.
-
Scans of parts books, brochures and manuals. Factory produced ones are OK but see 'Copyright' below.
-
Other items that you think may be of interest to readers
Format:
If possible please send written material as plain text rather than in MS -Word or rtf.
Photos, Movies & Graphics:
Please send photos and illustrations to make your article more interesting. Short movie clips are also possible although they should not be too long – 10 - 15 seconds maximum. For longer ones please enquire. Movies with sound are a great way to show a machine running. We can all hear and watch it. A link to Youtube is another way to make your clip available
If you have an item to submit, please use the link on the 'Contact Us' page and i will send you the details on sending it to me. This is to help prevent spammers trolling for addresses sending a lot of junk.
Articles will be used as time and space is available but as soon as possible.
Non English Articles:
Articles will be published in the language of the author, however please provide a summary in English to help those who do not understand your language. If your English is not very good I can edit it. I have a post graduate degree in Linguistics and have had a lot of experience in changing 'not so good English' into 'reasonable' English. (Ed).
Waiting to hear from you ... :-)
